Hollow Revamped

If you’re a Sleepy Hollow fan and you’re anything like my sister, then you are extremely tired of Ichabod Crane’s wardrobe. Every Tuesday like clock-work I can hear my sister complaining. So, we thought we could make some suggestions on how to bring Mr. Crane into the future while still having the 18th century feel.

We think Sleepy Hollow stylists should take a look at Alexandre Plokhove Spring 2013 collection. Plokhove describes this collection as clergy attire.

A palette of coal, ash and alabaster gives off the dark & gloomy gothic feel of the show. The fabrics of corded cotton and vegetable-dyed leathers to open-weave Irish linen will help tell its story.

Another designer they should look at is Balmain Fashion House. Balmain is one of my sister’s favorite. Its Fall 2011 collection is pretty much perfect for Sleepy Hollow. Balmain gives you military jackets, stretchy paneled Biker jeans, plus straight-legged pants with piled on layers of hot menswear.

These collections are the definition of Sleepy Hollow in my opinion.

360 deg...All In The Family

This week’s 360 is all about fam. We were going through some old albums and we ran across some Polaroids. Sooo… we couldn’t pass up the chance to show everyone our style from the 70s/80s.

Above my Uncle T shows you how it’s done… rocking his button down silk white shirt and bell bottom pants with red platform shoes.  Moving forward..  below here are A.L.C.’s and Michael Kors’ beautifully made keyhole bodysuits.

Oh yeah… Uncle B in his cashmere sweater, straight leg black trousers and grey trench coat. We match him with Michael Kors RTW collection of sleek, tailored cashmere, silk jersey and a charcoal flannel.

I hope you enjoy this 360 as much as we do!

360

Photobucket

Just for fun, we would like to introduce to you our 360° post. Enjoy our examples of how fashion has come full circle. Check out the lead singer of the 1979 Mary Jane Girls R&B group Joanna "JoJo" McDuffie. She is wearing a body suit with rips on the side. Next to her we put up Hellz Bellz ripped leggings from their 2010 "Culture Vulture" collection. These styles definitely give off a sexy & street-wise persona!

Check out our LUVIN URBAN play list, which features Mary Jane Girls!

Ralph Lauren has done an amazing job of blending two worlds. The 2011 Fall collection is a combination of the American 1920s and '30s with the right amount of Asian inspiration. You will be entranced by the beautifully desiged dragon embroideries, beaded flapper dresses, evening gowns, wonderful silks/satins and perfectly made silhouettes. ENJOY!
