360 degrees of the 90s

The 90s is here! & we’re gonna show you who rocked it the best.  We start off with Aaliyah. She defined the sexy tomboy style, with her signature baggie low waist jeans, crop top shirt and letterman jacket.  All girls wanted to be Aaliyah in the 90s (at least we did).  So, here is our 360 version of a street style deconstruction Denim.

Joey Lawrence is a TV icon that was known for his street style of distress denim, t-shirt and plaid button down. Fast forward to today’s destroyed denim, crosshatch of plaid and vintage tees.

Last but not least, we had to include Johnny Depp for his cut off denim jacket. Everyone should have one in his or her closet………. Playing off the red sleeves connected to Depp jacket below is a mix and match flannel and denim jeans.

Street Stylin'

Photobucket

Luvin urban would not be complete without talking about urban streetwear most think that the key to streetwear is to wear everything big & baggy. If you stayed with that rule you would have been out of style in 2010. Streetwear is very versatile from wearing skinny jeans to baggy pants & jackets whether it's leather or jeans. Like most of urban wear it's about key pieces, stylish Tees, hoodies, ball caps, hot sneakers, eye catching rope & link chains, two/three finger rings, earrings (ie... door-knockers, hoops, for men diamond studs in one ear or both). Plus, big face watches.

LUVIN♥ URBAN

Let's talk about the urban side of fashion. This is the type of fashion that we love because it expresses cultural freedoms and personality. The arrival of Hip Hop in the late 70's has influenced elements in fashion and has since then broken into two categories that we call Urban Chic and Street Wear. The recipe for these looks includes the silhouette, color, accessories and a vintage feel to the outfit.

For those of you who does not remember... back in the day it was more about catching your eye than it was about matching. Think Fresh Prince of Bel Air where he would wear the checkered black and red pants with a lime green shirt. Instead we will refine it to a black checkered pant with a white tee, red hoodie and grey and green hightops.

So ladies, this month we will post urban wear that is stylish and chic...guys, we will show key pieces that can create the urban preppy look as well as the hot street gear!
